How to set it up

1. Use a business phone app with a built-in missed-call text. Quo (formerly OpenPhone) and Grasshopper have one, and Jobber and Housecall Pro offer it as add-ons. Google Voice can't send automatic texts.
2. Register for business texting. US carriers block business texts from unregistered numbers. Most phone apps file it for you from a short form. Approval usually takes 1–3 business days.
3. Paste the texts and test. Call your business line from a phone that hasn't called or texted you lately, and let it ring out.

Keep it on the right side of the rules

• Only text people who called you, and send one automatic text per missed call.
• Name your business and include "Reply STOP to opt out."
• Keep it helpful: no links, coupons or offers in the automatic text.
• If someone asks you to stop, stop right away.
